The full technical picture of a mix, in one pass.

Audio Analysis is the deeper read. Where the Loudness Meter answers whether your track is too loud, this one tells you how the mix is actually built: its dynamics, its stereo behaviour and how its energy is spread across the frequency spectrum.

It is the report an engineer looks at before deciding what a track needs.

Key points

  • Crest factor and PLR tell you how much dynamic life is left in a master.
  • A correlation below zero means parts of your mix cancel when summed to mono.
  • Band balance shows whether the low end is genuinely too big or just feels that way.
  • Free to run, with no token cost.

What it reports

Loudness and peak: integrated LUFS, loudness range, true peak and sample peak, the same measurements the Loudness Meter provides.

Crest factor and PLR: the distance between the peaks and the average level. A high crest factor means transients are intact. As limiting increases, crest factor falls, and a PLR under about 8 dB usually means the master is working hard.

Stereo correlation and width: correlation runs from +1 (identical channels) through 0 (independent) to -1 (fully out of phase). Anything consistently below zero will partly disappear when a club system, a phone speaker or a smart speaker sums your track to mono.

Band balance: how much energy sits in each part of the spectrum, so you can see whether a mix is genuinely bass-heavy or simply lacking top.

What it is good for

  • Diagnosing a mix that will not translate. When a track sounds right on your monitors and wrong in the car, the band balance and correlation figures usually explain why.
  • Checking mono compatibility before a release that will be played on phone speakers, club systems or radio.
  • Deciding how much room a master has left before you ask for more loudness.

What it costs

Audio Analysis is free. It costs no tokens and there is no cap on how many files you run through it. Create a free account and it is available immediately.

Common questions

What is the difference between this and the Loudness Meter?

The Loudness Meter answers one question, whether your track is too loud and whether it will clip, and gives you a plain verdict. Audio Analysis gives you the full technical table including crest factor, stereo correlation and band balance, aimed at someone who wants to diagnose a mix rather than check a release.

What correlation number should I aim for?

Somewhere between +0.3 and +0.9 is typical for a wide, healthy mix. Consistently negative correlation is the one to act on, because it means mono summing is cancelling part of your record.

Does a low crest factor mean my master is bad?

Not automatically. Dense, loud genres run low crest factors by design. It becomes a problem when the drums stop moving air and the track sounds flat at any volume.

  • Loudness Meter (free) — Integrated LUFS, loudness range, true peak and RMS, with a plain verdict on headroom and streaming loudness.
  • Stereo Widener (1 token) — Width that survives a mono fold-down.
  • Mid/Side Splitter (1 token) — Separate centre from sides and treat them apart.

Or let the engine do all of it.

This tool does one job. The engine does the whole record: separation, a mix, a master and the reasoning behind every decision.
