Hit a target LUFS for any platform, exactly.

Set the loudness target you need and the tool measures your track and moves it there, holding a true peak ceiling on the way so nothing clips.

It is the difference between guessing at a level and delivering a file that measures exactly what the platform asked for.

Key points

  • Presets for the common streaming targets, plus a custom value.
  • A true peak ceiling is enforced, so hitting the target never causes clipping.
  • Measured with the same BS.1770-4 method the platforms use.
  • 1 token per run.

Which target to choose

Around -14 LUFS is the usual reference point for streaming, and it is a sensible default if you want your dynamics to survive normalisation intact.

Louder targets, -9 to -11 LUFS, are normal in club, hip hop and electronic music. You will be turned down on playback, but the master will still have the density the genre expects when heard elsewhere.

Broadcast and podcast work usually specifies its own figure, commonly -16 LUFS for podcasts and -23 LUFS for European television. If you have been given a number, enter it as a custom target.

What it is good for

  • Delivery specs. Meet a required loudness figure exactly rather than approximately.
  • Album consistency. Bring every track on a release to the same perceived level.
  • Playlists and compilations. Stop one track jumping out against the others.
  • Podcasts and video. Hit the platform's number without hand-riding a fader.

What it costs

Loudness Normalizer costs 1 token per run. Tokens work across every tool, so one balance covers everything here. A Studio subscription at $19.99 a month includes a monthly allowance and the full engine alongside it.

Common questions

Is this the same as mastering?

No. Normalising sets the level. Mastering makes tonal and dynamic decisions that change how the record sounds. If your mix already sounds finished and just sits at the wrong level, normalising is exactly what you need. If it needs balance work, it needs mastering.

Will it make my quiet track loud?

It will raise the level to the target, but raising level is not the same as adding density. A mix with large peaks will hit the ceiling before it reaches a loud target, and the limiter will do the rest.

How do I know what my track measures now?

Run the free Loudness Meter first. It costs nothing and tells you exactly where you are starting from.

  • Loudness Meter (free) — Integrated LUFS, loudness range, true peak and RMS, with a plain verdict on headroom and streaming loudness.
  • True Peak Limiter (1 token) — Hold a real dBTP ceiling with no intersample clipping.
  • Audio Analysis (free) — LUFS, true peak, crest, correlation and band balance.

Or let the engine do all of it.

This tool does one job. The engine does the whole record: separation, a mix, a master and the reasoning behind every decision.
