A 7.1.2 bed, placed objects and ADM metadata, ready for the Dolby Atmos Renderer.

Turn a stereo mix into a genuine immersive master: the track is separated into its parts, those parts are placed as audio objects around and above the listener, and the result is written as a BW64 file with ADM metadata.

That is a real deliverable you can open in the Dolby Atmos Renderer, not a widened stereo file with a surround label on it.

Key points

  • A 7.1.2 bed plus placed audio objects, not an upmix.
  • Written as BW64 with ADM metadata for the Dolby Atmos Renderer.
  • Includes a binaural headphone check so you can audition it anywhere.
  • 12 tokens per run, the most involved job the engine does.

How it works

The mix is first separated into its constituent parts, so the vocal, the drums, the bass and the instruments exist as independent sources rather than a single stereo image.

Those sources are then placed: a bed holds the elements that should surround the listener, while individual parts become objects positioned in three dimensions, including height. The positions and movements are written as ADM metadata alongside the audio.

The result is a BW64 file carrying both the audio and the object metadata in its chunks, which is what the Dolby Atmos Renderer expects to read.

What it is good for

  • Immersive releases. Apple Music and Tidal both support Atmos, and immersive catalogue is still comparatively scarce.
  • Back catalogue. Give an existing stereo release a new immersive version.
  • Sync and film. Deliver an immersive music bed for a picture mix.

What it costs

AI Dolby Atmos Mixer costs 12 tokens per run. Tokens work across every tool, so one balance covers everything here. A Studio subscription at $19.99 a month includes a monthly allowance and the full engine alongside it.

Common questions

Do I need the Dolby Atmos Renderer to use the result?

To validate and to produce a final platform deliverable, yes, that is the standard tool. The file we produce is the ADM BW64 master the Renderer reads.

Why does this cost more than the other tools?

It runs a full separation first, then object placement and immersive rendering. It is several jobs in one and by far the heaviest thing the engine does.

Is the result really Atmos, or an upmix?

The track is separated into real sources and those sources are placed as objects with ADM metadata. That is object-based immersive audio rather than a stereo file spread across more speakers.

  • Surround and Immersive (2 tokens) — Turn a stereo master into surround: 5.1, 7.1, quad, height beds up to 9.1.6, or ambisonics. All of them still fold back down.
  • Stem Separation (2 tokens) — Split any song into vocals, drums, bass and instruments.
  • Loudness Meter (free) — Integrated LUFS, loudness range, true peak and RMS, with a plain verdict on headroom and streaming loudness.

Or let the engine do all of it.

This tool does one job. The engine does the whole record: separation, a mix, a master and the reasoning behind every decision.
